SUMMARY:

The Process Control Specialist will develop moderate to complex logic on various control systems, including Yokogawa DCS, PLCs, Opto 22, and other related control system environments. The Process Control Specialist assists in designing, commissioning, and troubleshooting control systems, such as DCS, PLCs, their networks, and any related hardware. Provide data analysis for operational issues, including recommendations for resolutions, as well as develop novel solutions to data requirements. Keep up with technological advancements in data acquisition and use this knowledge to facilitate proactive changes to maintenance and operational issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with Process / Project Engineers to develop and maintain DCS and PLC control logic for the chemical processes.
Participate in the commissioning of control systems and related equipment.
Communicate with plant operations for control system optimization and process improvement.
Maintain required documentation for control systems.
Ensure that potential safety and environmental issues related to projects are considered at all stages of startup, shutdown, and continuous operations of process equipment.
Performs work under minimal supervision and handles moderate to complex projects and issues.
Develop solutions to data acquisition needs and be the administrator for these technologies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Compliance with all policies and standards.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in Industrial Automation or Instrumentation Technology is required. A BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant engineering major is preferred.
A minimum of 2 year’s experience in programming skills with Yokogawa DCS or Rockwell PLC systems
Experience in logic development in an industrial environment.
Possess a solid working knowledge of subject matter experts and focus development primarily on improving chemical process control technology and installed equipment knowledge.
Experience with chemical industry design is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Analytical thinking skills.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving ability on control systems and instrumentation.
Strong communication (written and verbal) skills. Receives and acts upon feedback from supervisor.
Strong process background and solid working knowledge of control systems.
Ability to work independently as an integral part of a team.
Time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
